Just had this installed two days ago. When I tried it for the first time I noticed the drum was not filling up with water even though the drain hose was emptying in a pipe more than 30 inches off the ground. My clothes came out looking and smelling dirty and I had to take them to the neighborhood laundromat to finish the job.

This new product is exceptionally well designed. The materials look like they'll last 20 years at least. The design of the messages and menus seems to meet all my needs. Both the dryer and the washer parts of the Tower operate well and 7quietly. But most of all, by far, is the incredibly stingy use of electricity and gas, totaling only $7 per year. And that's for multiple loads for multiple member family! I'm an old retired man and I think I can handle seven bucks a year!Outstanding design craftsmanship, Electrolux. Well done!

We both like the new laundry tower. The controls are easy to use and the washer is quiet. This replaced a Maytag laundry tower, so we've had experience with this setup. It was alarming that the washer tub did not fill with water. I checked the manual, and in the troubleshooting it listed the tub not filling with water as a problem. The retailer sent a repairman the next day. He explained this washer is super efficient with water, you willl not see water in the tub. This should be explained better in the manual.

MAJOR DESIGN FLAW. Every other washer sold today has a little trap door on the bottom front of the machine, where you can access the washing machine filter. This is because pet hair, small beads, coins, and other things that clog the drain hose are captured in that little cylinder & could stop drainage. This filter should be cleaned out by *YOU* 1-4x a year. IT IS A MAJOR DESIGN FLAW THAT THIS FILTER IS LOCATED AT THE BACK OF THE UNIT AND CAN ONLY BE ACCESSED BY A SERVICEMAN ($$$).

So far so good. The proof will be in the pudding with longevity. Hopefully this will last for some time! I have heard a squeal from the dryer on one of our loads. Probably the 6th time of use. Concerning! The detergent drawer has much more water remaining in it after a load is complete. Also concerning. If we did a load and did not remove the drawer and shake it out, wouldn't you think that the water remaining would grow mold if the washer was not used for a while (say we went on vacation).

We recently moved and shortly after doing so the stackable washer from another brand died (after leaking water all over our floor and locking a load of clothes up for a week). I would have been happy to replace just the washer, but of course no one would put the old dryer on a new washer. The technician who came out recommended two brands - Speed Queen and Electrolux - and basically said most other brands are garbage. He quickly clarified that Speed Queen prices are astronomical and probably only make sense for professional use. So, that's how I ended up with this set. I've only ever had top loading washers, and as others have mentioned I do like being able to have more control over water levels, adding one more thing after a load starts, etc. That being said the washer has so far worked well and seems to do the trick for cleaning clothes with multiple settings for various types of loads. It is LOUD, though, as my wife frequently mentions when I'm doing laundry. I was impressed by the dryer capacity and expected fast, thorough drying. I have found that I nearly always have to select the "High" dryness level to actually get clothes dry, and even then have had to throw loads back in for extra drying (and these aren't massive loads or giant comforters, either). Overall, I'm happy to have a working set that gets the job done.
