Purchased this summer, replacing a 9 year KA model. Love the design/size/color (black stainless). Our kitchen is small, we needed a specific fit; this model fit the opening perfectly. Purchased from a photo, was a bit disappointed in the quality of the interior refrigerator veg drawers & runners. They are of thinner plastic. We have no kids living here so perhaps they will be ok, but definitely not good with hard use by children. The bottom freezer drawer drops a bit on the left when opening. Called the store & replacement runners were installed. It still is dropping. Store to call rep & get back to us. Admittedly not the experience we have had in the past, but still like KitchenAid, their look, features. Wish they had kept the interior's quality the same & as for the bottom freezer drawer, we are crossing our fingers that this gets repaired.

I bought a kitchenaid refrigerator very similar to this one about 2 years ago. It has been nothing but a headache. I have taken off so many days of work to have service people come out. I have had to replace the whole freezer door bc of a defect that caused the door to splice wires, the control board, defrost thermistor, evap fan thermistor, ice maker motor. Also, you can supposedly put magnets on this stainless, which I thought was a cool feature, BUT the stainless underneath actually rusted and little holes formed in the metal. So I would not suggest putting any magnets on this even though you reportedly can. Actual holes in the metal. Currently cannot use the refrigerator section despite countless repairs bc it freezes all of my food into ice. I am going to have to spend another couple of thousand dollars to buy a new fridge despite buying this one in March 2017. Biggest waste of money. Also received a notice about a defect with the kitchenaid dishwasher I purchased, so I am waiting for that to fail as well.

Black Stainless scratches easily!

My husband and I have a KitchenAid Black Stainless Refrigerator that we purchased about a year and a half ago. We purchased it because we have had other KitchenAid appliances that have been good products. While we have been happy with the refrigerator's mechanical performance, we have been very disappointed in the Black Stainless surface. We have been extremely careful only to clean it as described in KitchenAid documentation, yet it has still developed scratches. We have never had any appliance that has has this sensitive of a surface, KitchenAid or otherwise. We have made two contacts with KitchenAid on this matter and the best they can do is this response: "we can only recommend using the appliance touch up paint on the scratches, as this is use and care related. We do truly apologize for any inconvenience you have experienced." I don't find this helpful at all. Though I understand that "use and care" is generally not under warranty, I find this Black Stainless surface to be so sensitive to scratches as to be unusable. I would hope that KitchenAid would recognize this and 1) make changes to the product and 2) offer some support to end users. I do not feel I am being unreasonable in this. Given both the response from KitchenAid and the quality of their product, I would recommend against buying from KitchenAid and would certainly not buy from them again. They are a huge disappointment to me.

Rusting after One Year!

In December of 2017, we purchased a full line of Kitchenaid Stainless Steel appliances for $5K (fridge similar to this model, oven, microwave, dishwasher). We LOVE the function of the appliances and have not had ANY issues other than cosmetic. Every single one is rusting. I noticed it around one year later. When I would clean them, the rag was starting to turn yellow. This became more and more prominent and then you could see hundreds of small rust spots which every so slowly began to grow. I called Kitchenaid in May of 2019 and despite the issue not being covered, they sent someone out who verified that "Yes, that's a lot of rust!" and did not believe there was any reason to believe we were at fault. Kitchenaid replaced both doors on the refrigerator, but understandably the other appliances were not such an easy fix. After MANY phone conversations and lots of suggestions of what I could try, they eventually told me replacing the doors on the fridge was a "good faith gesture," but as all the appliances are rusting, they believe the problem is due to "the environment" they are being kept in. They admitted that their stainless steel is not actually completely stainless steel. They believe something has caused the protective coating that keeps the metal from rusting to be removed, causing the rust. They suggested numerous reasons as to how that could have happened. The humidity in "their environment" is too high. The appliances are in my kitchen, in a home in the middle of the midwest, not on a back porch or outdoor kitchen or even in a southern state where the humidty is higher. They suggested that perhaps I leave food out for too long and that has affected the "environment." They suggested that the chlorine level in my water might be too high and that I should contact my city and start using bottled water to clean the appliances. The only time I ever used anything other than the Kitchenaid cleaner was when they sent me something else to try and those instructions stated to wipe off with water when I applied the treatment. They suggested I used lemon juice. We do have another stainless steel refrigerator. In the same house. Cleaned the same way. Over 10 years old. And NO RUST. It's a Kenmore. A stainless steel wine fridge. No idea how old that is, but much older than the Kitchenaid appliances. NO RUST. A stainless steel toaster. 4 years old. No rust. Ultimately, I'm very disappointed that we upgraded to a brand that is well known for quality and are now stuck with perfectly functional, but rusting appliances.

Great fridge. We got it as a gift and it is a nice addition to our kitchen. Much more convenient than our old freezer on top fridge. With young children we have much more space for food and the water dispenser in the fridge is nice and out of the way of busy hands. Would have gone bigger but we didn't have the space.

The 33' refrigerator does not have symetrical design. One door is bigger than the other so the french doors seem is not down the middle. This was not stated to us, and I was surprised when it arrived. I actually thought we had a freak, but went to the store and was told that is how they make the narrower refrigerator. I wonder why?

I only bought this fridge because our KitchenAid fridge gave up the ghost. We had her for 19 years! It was quiet and smaller than this one.. The compressor had died. We had to buy a fridge on the floor. I wanted to buy a highly rated Samsung, but only 1 in Vegas. We could not wait. Lost a lot of food already. The pamphlet stated the new fridges were quieter. What a joke! It makes weird noises too.

Since it looked little odd with extra space, we exchanged it with P C Richards for a another fridge from a different manufacturer, which was also less expensive with more cubic foot storage. We loved it for the few days that we had it. I liked the humidity control, which other manufacturers do not seem to offer

We purchased 3 months ago. Handles where loose whithin the first week. We had the service guys to come out to tightin them several times. Now that we are in three Months they are barely hanging on. They told us there was nothing else they could do. The shelves will fall your not carefull with the items. My last refrig lasted 12 years by kitchenaid but I will do more shopping next time. $2400 is a lot of money for something that falls apart in a matter of months.

We recently purchased our first single family home. Its an older home and with that came original appliances. Within the last few months we found that we had to replace each and every one of them. We went was KitchenAid for the brand quality and the reputation that stands behind it. From our dishwasher, that is so quiet that you forget it's even on, to the stove that makes me look and feel like a chef. Mind you, I still burn the kids Mac n Cheese but I look good doing it. LoL This new refrigerator is no different. It's beautiful. But more than that, it's deceivingly larger than it appears. We replaced a 31" counter depth fridge with this KitchenAid refrigerator. We had size restrictions as its an older home, but let me tell you I am over the moon with how well this last item compliments my kitchen. My ONLY negative mention would be that the shelves do not go all the way to the back of the refrigerator. It's an approx 1.5 - 2" open spacing, that could pose a problem if not away when filling your fridge with goodies. Other than this small feature, the fridge is Solid and well made. No cheap plastic shelving. The layout is adjustable and well thought out. The door shelf's hold a gallon of milk on each side as well can hold an additional Litre of milk beside the gallon on the larger door on the right. We have two boys and a construction worker dad and I can load this thing up no problem. We are very impressed.

I am completely disappointed with this refrigerator. The freezer handle comes loose a couple of times per week and I have to continue to fix it. Extended warranty doesn't cover this part. Total fail on freezer handle design.

I received this refrigerator approximately a month ago, so far so good, the vegetable and fruit drawers are a little rough while opening, they're not smooth moving at all, and the refrigerator does seem to be a little louder at times than what I think it should be. It was very hard to find a refrigerator to fit the space I have and have the things i wanted. So I may have gone with a higher rated one but it wouldn't be able to fit in my space. Maybe check back with me in six months I may have a totally different opinion.

We've had this refrigerator for 9 months. Had a service call to replace damper. Contents freeze on upper two shelves of fridge. Service says not to use these areas and keep them clear. That's 25%of the refrigerator space! Damper motor clicks away like a bag of marbles being spilled. Gasket on right side door is ripped from left door being closed. Service says you need to always open the right door before opening the left, and close the left first before the right. Why have two doors if you have to open both to gain access? Don't buy this nightmare. Wish I could have my old single door back.

Need a 33 inch wide refigerator

Did not have much to choose from in the narrower width. KA is great looking fridge, but wish it had the water and ice dispenser on the front of the door. Other 33 inch wide models also do not. Its big brother in the 36 inch wide has the water and ice dispenser on the front and has a better looking inside, but again does not transfer to the 33 inch. So if you are looking for fridge that fits in a narrower space, the KA is a great choice. If you have more room go for its bigger brother!

Water dispenser freeze up

This refrigerator was delivered to my home in October 2018 and I have had the repair technician come to my house seven times and the problem is still not resolved. The technician set the display temperature from 38 to 40 degrees and the water dispenser still freeze up. He replaced the circuit board and reprogrammed the software but this did not help. He wrapped the reservoir and tubing with insulation but the water dispenser continued to freeze up. Two other times he reprogrammed the software to a higher temperature, with the display still showing 38 degrees, but this caused the temperature in the refrigerator to fluctuate between 44 and 26 degrees and the water dispenser still would freeze up. My wife and I are having the store come and get this refrigerator and go with a different brand.

We replaced a 10 yr. old KitchenAid bottom freezer frig that still worked great. We re-did our kitchen and wanted black stainless to go with our color scheme...although we are limited on space and didn't have much choice insofar as refrigerator style/dimensions. I would rate this frig as OK...nothing special about it...everything works. It did arrive with damaged shelf brackets and a noticeable finish defect on top of the freezer door...so much for quality control. I try and buy American whenever I'm able but I can see why people gravitate towards the Korean brands...they have better lighting, more features and seem to be more carefully finished. With that being said...I have a new frig and it seems to work.

Dented and still sitting, refrigerator

We just built a new house in the mountains and decided to go with American made Kitchen aid appliances. Everything has come dented. Refrigerator sitting for weeks to get a response on what will be done to replace it. Others just the same. Really unhappy with the lack of response.

I have had the fridge for over a month now. Have found the drawers to not slide well where my old unit had rollers that opened and closed smoothly these are just plastic glides that operate a little rough. The ice maker works well and is easy to get to. Bottom freezer works well

The design for the lift up drawer is ridiculous. It fell off every time when it was opened. Had to actually put a pin in it to fix it. Not as much room as my last fridge.

I bought the fridge about 2 months ago and it keeps things cold with no freezing. The only negative is that it is a little noisier than my old one but there is plenty of room and the vegetable drawers are easy to keep clean.

This refrigerator is so much better than my 25 year old side by side. It has more useable space on the shelves and runs very quietly. My only complaint is that the doors storage space does not hold as much as my old refrigerator. This is due to the design of all new refrigerators out there. Really like the led lighting and see thru bins.

I found it easy to organize everything in the spacious refrigerator. The adjustable door shelves made it easy for me to group like items together. The interior space made it easy to have shelf space for tall items and short items. Love the way it looks in my nbew kitchen.

So far no issues after about a month. Seems to do a good job with all sections as cold as expected. I didn't need to adjust any setting because the defaults seem fine. If you put too much in the bottom part of the freezer then the big basket over it hits the items below when you pull it out.
